Eugene Public Library Foundation 2010-2011 Board of Directors Larry Deckman, PresidentLarry Deckman is an attorney in private practice and an inventor. Jennifer Geller, Vice-President Jennifer Geller is an Instructor at the University of Oregon, holds a law degree from the University of Washington and is the former Lane County Chair of Stand for Children. She also serves on the Eugene School Board. Jenny Jonak , Secretary Jenny Jonak is a practicing attorney and the current president of Friends of the Library Dan Temmesfeld, Treasurer Dan Temmesfeld has his MBA from the University of Dayton. He is a CPA and audit supervisor with the Oregon University System Chancellor's Office. Mardy Allen Mardy Allen is a graduate of the U of O and has worked at Oregon Rehab Center at Sacred Heart as a Case Manager for more than 30 years . She is currently on the Ethics Board at Peace Health Medical Center. She was a former secretary for the Democratic Party of Lane County for two years. Doug Bales Doug Bales is a Vice President-Investments at Wells Fargo Advisors. He is also a river guide, an historic home renovator, member of Metropolitan Rotary and a former Army officer. Doug Barber Doug Barber is a contract lobbyist in Salem representing PeaceHealth and other health care organizations, Lane Transit District and Relief Nurseries. He previously worked as a television news reporter at KEZI-TV and for The Ulum Group. Doug also serves on the board of the Oregon Center for Applied Science (ORCAS). Doug is a graduate of Colgate University and Harvard Divinity School. Connie Bennett Connie Bennett is Library Director of the Eugene Public Library. She holds a Master of Librarianship degree and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Library Management. She is a member of the American Library Association, the Public Library Association, and the Fortnightly Club of Eugene. She is a member and past President of the Oregon Library Association, which honored her in 2001 as the Oregon Librarian of the Year. She is currently serving as Board President of the Lord Leebrick Theatre Company. Joan Claffey Joan Claffey has her doctoral degree from Michigan State University and worked in Washington, DC for 25 years in education planning in Africa, Asia and Central America. She consults part-time on education issues and assists with scholarship review for Lane Community College Foundation. Joan enjoys painting and photography. Kim Esrig Kim Esrig is a former business owner and Executive Recruiter who is currently a Community Volunteer supporting a variety of school and education based programs. Carol Hildebrand Carol Hildebrand is a retired librarian, spending her career in public libraries in Minnesota and Oregon. She served Eugene Public Library for almost 20 years, first as Assistant City Librarian, then as Library Services Director. She was active in the Oregon Library Association, the Pacific Library Association and the American Library Association. Current memberships include the American Association of University Women, the League of Women Voters, the Friends of Eugene Public Library and First United Methodist Church. Interests include reading (mysteries!), singing, and beginning quilting. Jenny Jonak Jenny Jonak is an attorney and private business owner. She serves as President of the Friends of the Eugene Library and a member of Greenhill Humane Society's Development Committee. She is also an award-winning wildlife photographer whose work has been featured at the Smithsonian Museum, TIME Magazine, and the Washington Post. Sherrill Kirchhoff Sherrill Kirchhoff is a University of Oregon graduate who retired as Scholarship Program Manager with the Oregon Student Assistance Commission. She is a charter member of the Friends of the Eugene Public Library and has served as a consultant to the Oregon Library Association and the Oregon Community Foundation. She is an officer of Altrusa International of Eugene. Kristy Langworthy Kristy Langworthy received her Bachelor of Science from the U of O and is currently working on her Masters in Business Administration thru Northwest Christian University. She is a CPA and the Director of Finance at Goodwill Industries of Lane and South Coast Counties. Sharon Posner Sharon Posner is a retired television producer and consultant. She is a member of the League of Women Voters of Lane County, The Fortnightly Club of Eugene, and the Lord Leebrick Theatre Advisory Board. Brad Shelton Brad Shelton is a Professor of Mathematics and Vice Provost for Budget and Planning at the University of Oregon. He is an avid bicyclist. Judy Volem Judy Volem is a retired teacher who worked for many years in the Eugene school district, supervised student teachers at the University of Oregon and taught at an international school. She continues to be involved with educational projects that integrate literacy and the arts. Pam Whyte Pam Whyte is a CPA and a partner in Emge & Whyte. She is a member of the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountant, AICPA and Professional Women’s Forum and volunteers for Oregon Social Learning Center, Sponsor’s Inc and Cascades Raptor Center and many other not for profit organizations in the Eugene area.
