Mary is honored to serve on the EPLF Board.  Originally from Iowa, her first library memory is of her mother taking her to the library to frequently check out The Little Auto by Lois Lenski. Mary moved to Eugene to attend the University of Oregon where she earned a degree in Community Service and Public Affairs. While in college, she discovered her web feet and has been in Eugene ever since. Her career spanned 40 plus years and included working for the State of Oregon, Lane County, the City of Eugene, and United Way of Lane County.  Over the years, Mary has served in leadership roles in several organizations including Lane Arts Council, Greenhill Humane Society, Lane Council of Governments, and Leadership Eugene Springfield.  She was elected and served on the Eugene School District 4J Board of Directors for 13 years. As an advocate for public education, she has passion and commitment to youth literacy, and community democracy.  Mary volunteers at Adams Elementary and the ATA library in the 4J School District. 

Stacy grew up in Hillsboro, Oregon, and moved to Eugene to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Oregon. She has spent more than 20 years in finance, including work on the UO Foundation endowment investment team and founding Tailored Financial Planning. As both a Certified Financial Planner® and Chartered Financial Analyst, Stacy is committed to providing approachable, unbiased financial guidance to her community.

Outside of work, Stacy enjoys time with her husband and two teenagers, as well as art, music and Thursday night trivia. She also serves on the boards of Parenting Now and the Oregon Mozart Players.

Growing up just blocks from the Hillsboro Public Library helped shape Stacy’s lifelong love of learning and community. The library was a refuge where she spent countless hours reading and winning summer reading challenges. Today, the Eugene Public Library plays a similar role for her children, who have been enthusiastic library cardholders from a young age.

Originally from Washington DC, Jessica Lloyd moved to Eugene in 2018. She is a urologist, specializing in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, and an owner-partner at Oregon Urology Institute.

Prior to her arrival in Eugene, Jessica lived in Durham, NC, for medical school and urology residency training at Duke University. From there, she pursued two years of advanced studies at the Cleveland Clinic.

Since moving to Eugene, Jessica, her husband, and their two young children have spent countless hours at the Eugene Public Library’s downtown branch – particularly the children’s center! Beyond reading and spending time with her family, Jessica enjoys Crossfit, walking her dogs, and hunting for just the right colorful art and décor for her home.

Amanda (Mandy) Hazen graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Family and Human Services, moving into a career serving families. In her current position she ensures children and families involved in the foster care and judicial system are receiving the services needed through thorough reviews of cases, identifying gaps and barriers. She is passionate about ensuring people receive equitable services that respect the individual by meeting them where they are at, and sees the library as the most welcoming place for that to occur. Mandy’s love of reading started early in life and she credits it as fostering her interest in people and their stories. She is a big library user, both for herself and for her child who frequently checks out more books than the book bag can handle.

Sally Krueger grew up in the Boston area, and moved to Eugene in 1989. Her childhood was full of books, plays, and stories shared with her three older sisters. Now retired from 31 years of teaching elementary school, Sally continues to be inspired by the words and ideas found in our library. When she is not perusing the Lucky Day shelf, Sally can be found outdoors: kayaking, hiking, camping, or just wandering about. Sally continues to work with young people in outdoor settings, especially when hosting field trips to learn about water quality and spawning salmon. She and her husband Jeff have two grown children.

Katherine Lynch Moss is a community-minded advocate for education, accessibility, and public institutions that strengthen civic life. She believes deeply in the role libraries play in fostering lifelong learning, early literacy, and inclusive access to information for people of all ages. She values the Library as a welcoming space that nurtures curiosity and connection.

Originally from the Chicago area, Katherine lived and worked in several places across the country before settling in beautiful Eugene with her young family. Her work in community health, now at the Eugene VA Health Care Center, is centered on a strong commitment to supporting local healthcare needs. 

In her free time, Katherine enjoys reading, baking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her family. She is honored to support Eugene Public Library Foundation and its mission to ensure the Library remains a vibrant, robust resource for generations to come.

Megan McKinney, BSN, RN (they/them) is a queer, trans, and neurodivergent community volunteer who believes in the power of connection, creativity, and lifelong learning. Since 2025, Megan has volunteered weekly at Second Hand Prose and has supported Eugene Public Library Foundation outreach efforts in the community.

Megan brings more than 15 years of nursing experience and a deep commitment to community care, education, and advocacy. Their volunteer work includes Eugene Pride, Bright Parade, Glimmer Camp, and advocacy and education efforts supporting awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP).

Outside of volunteering, Megan enjoys spending time in nature, reading books, singing with Eugene Queer Choir, creating arts and crafts, and writing poetry and spoken word. They believe libraries are vital public spaces where people can explore new ideas, build community, and see themselves reflected in the stories around them. Megan is grateful to call the Willamette Valley home.

Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ashley moved to Portland to attend Reed College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in economics in 2007. She now lives in Eugene with her husband and child, where they own and operate a bottle shop/pub. As a family, they enjoy exploring Oregon and appreciate Eugene’s many community gatherings and offerings. For over 15 years, Ashley has worked for The Ford Family Foundation, where she serves as the Scholarship Programs Manager, overseeing policy development, implementation, and adherence as it relates to the scholarship programs, application, operations, and student supports. Ashley also serves on the Board of Directors for Parkside Community Preschool and was previously on the Advisory Board for Eugene Public Library Foundation’s Imagination Library program. She is a huge advocate for both financial and child literacy!

Originally from the small town of Loomis, California, Amanda moved to Eugene with her family in search of a place to set roots and invest in community. She holds a B.A. in English and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, bringing over a decade of classroom teaching experience at the middle and high school levels. As an English Language Arts educator, Amanda has dedicated her career to literacy education, specializing in helping students—particularly reluctant readers—discover joy in reading. In the classroom, she pioneered innovative approaches creating pathways to literacy that celebrate diverse voices and meet learners where they are.

Having spent much of her own childhood in the library, Amanda understands firsthand how libraries serve as essential community hubs. She continues this tradition with her own two sons, ages 8 and 11, grateful that the library's generous check-out limits accommodate their voracious reading habits. Currently, Amanda is a certified yoga instructor teaching at two local studios. You can find her exploring Eugene's dog-friendly trails with her French Bulldog, cooking her grandmother's recipes, frequenting local coffee shops, and reading for hours with her children.

Erin Leslie has always had a deep love for books, reading, and writing. Originally from Bend, she made Eugene her home in 1998 when she began attending the University of Oregon. Today, Erin works as an Online Business Manager, Virtual Assistant Trainer, and Support Coach.

She met her husband on a blind date. They have an incredible teenage daughter, Lorelai (named after the Gilmore Girls), two dogs, and a cat. As a family, they enjoy paddle boarding, exploring new places, and drinking coffee.

An Enneagram 2w3, Erin is passionate about community and connection. She loves the library for its role in downtown Eugene, the services and programs it offers, its significance in her daughter's life growing up, and of course, THE BOOKS!

Anne and her husband retired to Eugene from Santa Clara, California, where Anne was a library volunteer in ESL Conversation Club, developed and directed an ESL Book Club and taught adults to read in the Literacy Program. Anne retired from her career as a Tropical Biologist when her family moved to California from Miami, Florida, where she worked in science “libraries” studying and cataloging invertebrates, plants and scientific literature. She grew up in the Republic of Panamá in a family of avid readers. Her family took weekly trips to the library in the Canal Zone and before school you could find her in the library reading. In Eugene, she volunteers in the library at the Information Desk and in the Talk Time. She volunteers on a Citizens Review Board reviewing foster children's care. And she and her husband can be heard playing recorders in the Eugene Recorder Orchestra.

Jess Roshak grew up in Pennsylvania, where some of her most perfect childhood memories were spent quietly sifting for knowledge amongst the stacks of books at the public library. She received her B.A. in philosophy and political science from Boston University in 2001. During her work at the University of Pennsylvania earning her Master's in Education in her early years of teaching high school in Philadelphia, she came to see literacy as the most urgent social justice issue of our time -- and libraries as one of the key catalysts. She has devoted her career to teaching and writing curriculum that empowers some of the most at-risk students via skill-building problem-based learning projects.

Jess fell in love with Eugene Public Libary at first sight in 2006 and has been a devoted patron ever since, but especially of the Children's and Non-fiction sections. Currently, she is writing an online philosophy curriculum for young learners and advocates for appropriate structured literacy instruction for dyslexic children. Jess loves spending time with her family and has an affinity for so many things, including serving on the neighborhood board, playing the violin, public transportation, upcycling, design, travel, and breadmaking.
